Anyone at Edelman confirm that there’s a policy to only allow vaccinated staff in offices? I’m interviewing and asked and not getting a clear answer which is a bit weird.

Yes, proof of vaccination is required to enter US offices. Not a requirement to be employed by Edelman, but a requirement to be in the buildings.

LOL welcome to Edelman.

Run. 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️ 🏃

It’s a new policy, so depending on who and when you asked, some people may be unclear on what that means when it comes to hiring, remote work, etc. and how to talk about it. Speaking from experience, I don’t want to say the wrong thing! As the above poster mentioned, it’s not a condition for employment. I’d recommend having another conversation with your recruiter if you have concerns.

like

Are you asking bc youre not vaccinated…

Very seriously. Masks worn while at desk even with proof of vaccination.

You actually interview in RWE apartment

Getting over heartbreak and having a full time job is torture lol. My boyfriend and I just broke up after almost a year of being together. My body hurts, my stomach is in knots, my head hurts. How is it that I have to mend a broken heart but also meet my billable hours lmao

Should I complain to a firm's HR if the interviewers laughed at my answer during an interview? Maybe it sounded scripted but it was still heartfelt and genuine: my immigration story and how that made me appreciate the rule of law. I said it soo many times during OCI's that maybe it eventually sounded robotic, but for the interviewers to laugh and one to say sarcastically "nice elevator pitch", I thought was rude. Thoughts?

How is RSM PTO? Understand it’s unlimited, which limits more than accrued, but any insight on what you like/dislike?

Last year when Covid broke, I received a couple of interview calls but ignored them as I felt the organization kept me at work when other companies cut short their HR staff so I should be with them even if with no appraisal. But now, I was living in the fool's paradise when I am told to leave with no job offers in hand, car and home loan, dependent parents, expecting jobless spouse with a 3-year old kid.

Advice and/or consolation anyone? My wife and I (both above average health 30year olds) were trying for 11 months before getting pregnant and then had a week 5 early miscarriage a few months back. If the stress and surprise of just how difficult it apparently is to get pregnant wasn’t enough, the miscarriage put us over. We got back to it and have been trying for the last 2 months again, still no luck. We’re freaking out… all we want is a family. Any similar stories? Advice? 😢

It used to be the case that you could never say anything in the slightest negative about your old position/employer/etc when applying for a new job. I have had a gap in my tech résumé for a bit, as I’ve had some negative experiences (typical ones for women in technology) that have come to light in recent years to the public. Since that is now the case… Is it now OK to say that I left my last position because of toxic company culture, or something of the sort? Or still a huge NO-NO?
