I am currently pursuing a position to be a 401k workplace planning consultant with Fidelity Investments. I would like to connect with someone who has gone through that training and early hiring process to make sure I have a solid understanding of the position. This is specifically for the Raleigh/Durham NC area if possible.

It's a new day. To get a raise you need to get a new job.
I really hate to think of changing jobs - I have excellent PTO which I don’t want to give up and start over.
Rising Star
I have only really gotten raises by moving to a new job.
Exactly!
Any other job gives yearly raises. The CEO gets one every year. Let that sink in. They don't care about you, the backbone of the whole industry 💯
This been the case for most medical industries, it became more transparent in 2020-2021. Now, again, no longer transparent, however, they are absolutely getting a raise yearly (with bonuses) while their employees beneath them not so much.
This is one of the reasons I left healthcare. From 2010-2019 my wages increased every couple of years and was above inflation. After 2019 that all changes. Wages went stagnant. Some places I was around actually tried to lower wages
Fast forward to Dec.2023 the current business wanted to do 2, 2.5, or 3% merit raises... Inflation locally was 7%. I left in May and I have no interest in returning anytime soon.
I make CBD dog treats now. 🤣 So much less stressful.
If they haven't given you a raise by now . Then they aren't planning to.ever give you a raise. you should ask the point blank for a raise listing all of the ways you contribute to the company. reminding them that you haven't gotten a raise in 7 years. If they deny you. Then its time to start looking. You can expect a 15 - 20 % pay rate increase when you jump ship to a new company.
Sometimes you have to leave and come back to get the raise you deserve or you have to go directly to HR or your supervisor and ask for a raise.
In 22 years I have always had an anual raise. What state are you in?
MS
We get annual reviews in our outpatient department. I've gotten a raise by at least 2-3% every year.
Really, bc the OP said he hasn't had one for 7 years. I would be happy w this
i did go a long time without a raise, then i got like a 15 cents then during covid the therapists got a raise (i got 44 cents) and the assistants did not. the assistants spent more time on the covid unit. i thought it was not fair. i work for a rehab company in long term care. i know a PT that left that scenario and works for the cleveland clinic and she gets raises every year....
Zip, zilch nada neit
Come to think of it, they're way behind in paying me. Raise? hahahahah
✋🏻
I job hope every 2 years because it’s the only way
We get an average of 2-3% merit raise per year. Very rare COL
Chief
No, I would quit.
They have to ensure that the CEO get the raise they want to be able to retain them lol
Healthcare is a big industry and lots of employment models. What do you do in healthcare?
Outpatient PT
Why I stopped working for assholes and became a partner..corporations do not give two shits about employees!! They will say they do and offer perks that "you" think are great but at the end of the day, it's about the bottom dollar!! Your perked and salary are not shit to what they take in
Stagnant for the past decade . Everyone cutting salary and then adding " performance pay " to get you back to your old salary . Longer appointments never happen . The last huge for profit place I worked gave 1% raise. Less than Medicare COLA . Did not negotiate at all . The business arm CEO made > $20 million Telling me that " Drs work 60 hrs a week " " you're salaried" Really ? SO tone deaf .
And they wonder why very experienced providers in primary care are retiring early , AND they can't fill positions .
1% raise this past year......insulting!
Be thankful
I only get raises when the government gives something to healthcare workers ("cost of living"). I do not get annual raises though.
Oh, absolutely! I'm currently in a legal dispute with my former employer who was giving me annual raises to get me to the salary I should have made in the beginning of my career. I spent the first 5 yrs of my current career working for a nursing agency and during these years they steadily gave me raises to get me to the salary I have now 5 yrs later. The kicker is them finally paying me what they should have 5 yrs ago and manipulating me into believing that I'm been given raises all of that time, which is absolutely false, they've just been "spoon-feeding" me my own salary at a lower rate of pay, lol.
