How do you think about carried interest as a factor in total comp? Getting 69bps (memelord GPs) in a $420M (see above) fund, which vests over 8 years. It’s a new fund, so won’t be paid out until liquidation 5-7 years later.

Assuming I stay at the fund for two years, and the fund returns 3x, that’s 300k (obviously subject to big change depending on my tenure & returns). When benchmarking against other offers, how should this be valued? Is TC 450k (300k salary/bonus + 150k carry), or less?

For the most part, I will be working at the city where my family and SO is at but they mentioned that I’ll have to relocate for 6 months to another location. Honestly, I don’t really want to do that, I would’ve been fine if it were frequent visits (rather than moving). Any thoughts or advice on how I should negotiate this? I’m a former forensic scientist that left the field several years ago. I recently received a subpoena from a case I worked and suggested to DA to have evidence re-worked by the lab or stipulation. If I am required to testify (as an expert witness), I would need to book a flight, hotel, etc. My question is this: can I ask for my requested hourly rate, travel, and hotel to be covered when speaking with DA or is that “not how this works” as the investigator put it?

So I accepted an offer back in mid March but I didn’t negotiate it up and now I’m regretting it, because apparently you’re supposed to. I got a much higher salary than expected and a sign on bonus, and it’s been a while since I accepted the offer, and the start date is later this year…. Is it too late to ask for a bit more though?
