How is it a red flag is they are acquiring? Doesn’t it mean that they are growing and gaining market share? It might be difficult in terms of incorporating cultures but also more opportunities if you can pick up RSM methodology quickly
Best year in decades, firm leadership making an effort to give it back to us i.e. moving promotion and pay effective rates to 8/1 rather than 10/1 as it’s been in the past. Culture hasn’t diminished with the rapid growth, still enjoy the work and genuinely feel rewarded fairly for the time put in. Good time to be here.
RSM culture varies heavily office to office, so try to check with people at whatever office you're looking at. They did move raises up 2 months which is alright, long overdue on that end.
@pwc1 disagree with you there, also seems a but condescending. The focus we are always aimed at is the midmarket and this is simply trying to solidify that. Considering it's the largest midmarket, kind of crazy to to see virtually no offices in texas until recently. This is more of an alignment.
^ second that. We’re also no where close to B4 in terms of revenue, and understand that. I think the smallest B4 is still 5x us. Never try to frame ourselves as B4, that’s GT’s thing...
I know someone who went from PWC to RSM and managed to get a 36% increase in pay for the same line of work at one level higher. He says the work is actually what was promised in the interview and you seem to be valued a lot more. Pwc put him on staff aug engagements from day 1, which is severely limiting career wise. Opportunities at RSM definitely seem to be real.
RSM trying to join the big leagues. Idk if it’s true but I would be scared to join those borderline firms. Don’t get the big4 prestige but work hard hours because they trying to get there. Again, not sure if it’s true but that’s what I would think
