Contribute 40k to pension as first step.
You can also use prior years unused allowances too to contribute more than 40k.
Thanks, heard about that option. Sadly I don’t have any lump sums available to pay in - with three kids, massive mortgage and childcare fees it’s pretty tight so more about optimising my monthly income. This is why I was after some recommendations for advisory people/companies who can help me work through the numbers and work out the best balance
There are really not any ways to do this pre tax other than pension and salary sacrifice schemes across car, bike, childcare vouchers etc. Most tax/financial advisors would specify the above and then their additional help/advice would require you to have some disposable income that you can put into an ISA which is tax free or some other investment of which there are various flavours!
Yeah makes sense, salary sacrifice options left to me would be an electric car scheme and voluntary pension payments. I have some slack as just had pay rise, wondering if there is some sweet spot where the tax savings would offset or minimise the car lease (model dependent of course)
The electric car lease salary sacrifice is a good option worth exploring. Taxable benefit is only 1%. You can probably find a few online calculators to check the benefit to you based on your circumstance.
