I would look into Yale masters in environmental management. It’s the top program for sustainability/climate and will open a lot of doors in ESG work.
Looks really solid - also a 2 year duration though
What is you tech experience like? Are you a developer - if yes, what type? There is deluge of digital platforms work in this space.
I know EY CCaSS Digital does a lot of software advisory/implementations.
Regardless of where you're looking, maybe an ISSP certification? I hear they're easy.
Feel free to DM.
Identify your transferrable skills that are needed in ESG and market your resume highlighting those. Continue to reach out - I’d say use LinkedIn to find people in your network in ESG and ask for an introduction or referral. If they can’t, ask if they know of anyone else. No use messaging bosses or blindly applying online since you don’t have the experience - you need someone to vouch for you. IMO don’t worry about going back to school which would take time away from your search.
Check out Andy LaCivita’s career changer videos on YouTube, especially the one about getting a job with no experience. He’s awesome!
Good luck!
Get a sustainability cert, maybe
... can also try volunteering for something that will get you experience, whether it's research ("thought leadership") or something more applied, eg data & tech strat/ops for a local environmental charity.
