Interviewing with Apple next week for the roles of Global Supply Manager (GSM) and Worldwide Procurement Analyst in Austin. Does anyone have any tips or advice for the interview? What kind of questions do they ask?
Also, what’s the compensation like in Austin specifically? I would think the compensation would be different than Cupertino. Anyone have any offers or salaries for these positions in Austin?
So checked out, literally can’t focus on anything
Can we take leaves while serving NP?

They are a subpar sweatshop. Don't ruin your resume with them.
They are and have been very supportive of sponsoring H1Bs and GCs, though. Also I've had people from theses cos work at clients and I've had a very good experience. Many of them were actually better than folks at the Big 4+ACN in terms of both delivery and client facing roles. Plus they were very focused on pleasing the client and played no politics. In fact the project would not have succeeded if they were not there as they were more down to earth and had a holistic way of looking at things. Hate to say it if I were a CTO or CIO I'd probably hire them for both strategy and tactical work. Way more productive. That said if I did not have visa restrictions I would not work for these cos just because they are less diverse and don't focus on social responsibility and giving back and don't have a global presence like some of the American cos. Cognizant by the way is an American company and not Indian. One of their key leaders is an Indian from Carnegie Mellon University and is an amazing person.
I meant if we hire infy ppl, extra time will be needed to train them to a culture of ownership, that i have seen lacking generally in all indian firms. Having said that, i must confess i am an indian but its sad to see lack of basic professionalism in most cadres from those firms. Otherwise, to your point, no diff in delays in projects ..diff is due to strong sr level relationships, delays are communicated and managed well
EY 1...sounds like we're having similar experience. I feel shitty even considering taking a 25% pay cut. Bonus sounds awesome, and enough to possibly make up for the drop. But what's they're actual payout history??
From what I understand is below market base. 75%. Give or take for the bonus. They are trending toward a performance based culture as of 7/1
I wud run the opp direction
Avoid the WITCH. Wipro Infosys TCS CTS and HCL
When did they start distributing bonus?
No thanks.
Why the negative opinions of Infosys - real examples or just grapevine stuff?
Just go to Glassdoor to see the reviews their employees leave.
Infosys along with other Indian IT companies have been identified as serious abusers of the H1B program. They are so focused on pleasing clients that employees are the ones suffering in that bargain. You may have individual great performers at these companies, but the overall product delivered by them is very low quality.
SM1 - Not sure how many ppl from infy you dealt with. I worked with tons of them. They are very nice people but work quality..isnt always good. Its not because they are not good or dont intend to...their mgmt sucks and they promise more than the team can deliver. In the end, the onsite teams spend their weekends and nights to get things done. Offshore teams usually dont care much for a deadline unless a strong offshore manager takes charge. Cognizant is an america based firm but run by indian mgmt...huge diff in culture and thot process
D1 is right in many ways...
I agree with both of you, but not sure if one should not consider them. The Big 4 and Accenture abuse the H1B system as well. Fragomen and the other law firms have become so conservative that they don't care about the employees at all, so for those who are looking at this country long term should not completely discard these so called Indian firms.
I will definitely consider infy employees for roles...just be wary of time taken to change of culture and amount of training needed.
Come on man. EY has never delivered on time. We all know that. SI projects that is. It's always cya.
Americans and American firms are renowned worldwide for their loud/more talk and less do attitude.
When it comes to delivery Indian firms do quite well. People at Big 4 are bothered about Tumi bags, perception, "fake till you make it" and other intangible items items. If its some other kind of service line M&A , internal audit , change mgt then they don't have any service line. But these firms are considered sweat shop
EY2 stop this bull crap that you have teach them "culture of ownership " . What do you own ? - A bunch of PowerPoints and status slides?
Looks like u r in love with them. I am neutral..i worked with them, like them as well..few ppl i know, can hire them anytime..doesnt mean they know everything. I am not a ppt lover but there is fine line being a consultant..unfortunately they don't know the fine line. Mgmt is not trained for that...
