Hi, I'm leaving Citi in 2 months. It's hard to make this decision. I have an offer from a small startup. In citi, my previous experience was not considered and was reskilled to different tech which is the reason for change.I don't like to exit citi. As I like the company so much. But considering my current knowledge,I am in the middle of the sea.I am afraid now that the new company's offer would be revoked due to this recession?Or can I take back my resignation in citi before the last working day.Is this wise decision?

Hi all, I just finished my recruiter phone interview today for “Risk Prevention Escalations Specialist, Global Risk Operations” role and it went well. I have an interview on Friday with the hiring manager. Does anyone know what kind of questions they’ll be asking? I only have 2 days to prep..

Boston is a tough rental market. There is no harm in asking. You could also move to an airbnb, which could def be monthly. There's a pretty vibrant room sharing community in Bos too. If you have any friends in grad school, ask if you can jump onto their listservs.

It’s highly dependent on your landlord. Some will go for it, most won’t. I don’t think being around since Feb is long enough time to establish a relationship they’d be willing to bend rules for. As an example, we’ve been in our place for 3 years and asked to go month to month and they said no. It’s always worth asking however!
I agree with S2. I’d propose a 6-month lease. I’d ask for it to be at the same rent as before but be prepared to go a little higher. I’m in DC and have definitely noticed a softening in the rental market.
I feel like lots of students who were forced to go home will have their apts for sublease

In Toronto once your fixed term lease is completed (typically 12 months), you automatically go month to month and there is no way for your landlord to force you into another fixed term lease.
That's awesome, I'm jealous
In Boston and tried to ask for a shorter lease. Did not have success asking for 6 month lease but landlord agreed to 9. Worth a try, definitely depends on the landlord

I have no connections here, so if the job tanks, there’s no reason to stay. If I ask for month to month, would a landlord think, “Hey I’m just happy to have a low maintenance tenant who pays on time.”? Or would they be willing to bet on finding a replacement who’d commit to a full year?
Curious as well on management companies (oversee the whole building). Lease is up in June and may not be the best time to move.
Highly dependent on landlord and neighborhood - I am in Boston. Worth an ask though! If the answer is no, you could try to sublet for the summer while you figure things out (plenty on the Facebook housing groups).

Thanks for the replies! My sister is in a similar situation in Chicago - just in case anyone has insight on that market.
