Rising Star
I got laid off in the spring, but they kept the DEI people who were higher than me in the hierarchy. I’ve come to the realization that no job is truly secure and can end at any moment. My new company seems stable, but I still know that when the chopping block comes, it doesn’t matter how good of work you do.
I’m really sorry to hear you were laid off, and I hope that your new organization recognizes your talents and supports you in what you want to do. I think the layoffs have caused a lot of anxiety and distrust among everyone, and it showed us that they don’t truly value as the way that they like to tell us they do.
Doesn't really matter. Ever since I started working after college I already conditioned myself about all the possibilities of getting laid off anytime, getting fired or getting bullied by my seniors. Right now, I am trying to do my job with the best that I can.
I've seen an increase in secrecy across my company regarding DEI programs with high turnover at the top. It's a disturbing trend
Our DEI executive was not fired, but they left of their own volition, because the department budget got cut significantly, and promises that were made by the CEO were not kept. Their two direct reports also departed around the same time, and it’s been really tough to rebuild that trust with the organization. I think people forgotten that the DEI team even exists.
I'm afraid of it happening at my company and on top of that I'm afraid that the reversal of affirmative action will make it hard for DEI execs in the future
