Have your clients been more annoying since moving to remote work or where they more annoying back at the office?
Sigh. Can we stop this remote schooling!! I appreciate the school’s efforts but as teacher I’ve decided spring break is starting early and ending a week later !
Fellow consultants, apart from Skype-like apps that only share screens, are you aware of tools that can be used for remote workshops, i.e., ability to gather input, share video, and facilitate?
I used to feel so lucky to be at a school where the admin is supportive and I was actually close to my team of teachers. Now that we're remote, I feel so disconnected from everyone. I think we all feel this way. Does anyone teach at a school that is somehow able to boost teacher morale during distance learning?
How has it been pitching business or clients virtually? i would love some help making our remote meetings and new business pitches more energetic. it gets stale so quickly. would love tips and recos.
I find it interesting the volume of talk about anti-anxiety meds has dropped off a cliff since the pandemic started. Are we feeling less social anxiety WFH?
Are you working more or less hours since WFH started? I enjoy being home a lot- but it seems my direct managers are expecting me to be available at all hours now- truly creeping into my W/L balance
Any attorneys here need a remote gig worker? Out of work and need to make rent still this month. Happy to do any legal research for you.
Embarrassing thing you’ve done at work and got away with? One time WFH, I fell asleep and woke up 20 minutes into a 30 minute call. Didn’t join because I felt it was too late. No one ever mentioned it
The extra time WFH has afforded has fueled my habit of going down reddit rabbit holes. What’s your favorite subreddit?
What agencies/companies have already had wfh or remote working options before this whole pandemic?
I never thought that I'd say this, but I want to see offices and cubes make a return to the workplace. Either that or 70-100% work from home. Only having the option of open workspaces is terrible.
Thoughts on making a career change during the pandemic? I want to make a pretty big shift but unsure if the remote environment is the best time to do it.
Is it wrong of me to get annoyed if a junior responds back to me tasking them to format a deck saying they will try to get it it, but can not promise because they don’t have bandwidth. When I was a junior and a manager tells me to do something, I made it happen. If someone who out ranks you by 2-3 levels tells you to jump, you don’t push back, Am I wrong?
Why shouldn’t we let companies fail who used all of their liquidity for stock buy backs to boost executive compensation and short term shareholder wealth? Shouldn’t we let companies fail so a new generation can start with fewer barriers to entry.
Was in Mexico City during the earthquake. The shaking, fear and panic is like nothing I've ever experienced. Thankfully, everything in the area was fine, but the rest of the city wasn't (cont'd)...
Best resume building app/website/service? Haven’t updated resume since graduating college 5 years ago, feel out of the loop here. CPA with several years of big 4 tax experience.
All jobs that I’ve looked at recently require some form of coding. What would be the most beneficial to learn? I’m currently working in paid media but open to different jobs and industries.
If I ask to be taken off a project and returned to the bench so I can look for something else, how will that be received? Will they just fire me instead or do I get a window to find a new project?
Any suggestions where to exit from analytics in DC (not consulting)? Starting to look but everywhere seems to be government contracting or consulting
Might have figured out why I’m getting more acne since quarantine: I have oily skin and before at the office I would blot throughout the day but now I am only washing my face morning and night, no blotting. It’s likely the oil production that accumulates and clog pores 🤒
Someone enlighten me why? Nationally, we are at >40% of the 2016 total turnout TX is >75% of its total 2016 turnout. Wow. 👀
