I’ve lived in nyc, dc, and slc. I haven’t looked at buying a home, but the rent price is so much cheaper for nicer apartments. It’s also a nice change of pace that the culture is more family and activity oriented, as opposed to just working and going to bars (which obviously exist here too). The people here are far more understanding that you don’t exist to work and you have a life outside of it.
The mountains are beautiful, plenty of great ski or hiking opportunities, pickleball is pretty big here, I love the dry heat, and it’s a great city to drive in.
Food is definitely much worse here than nyc though.
The jobs here don't pay enough to cover for the cost of living. Homes are too expensive compare to Florida state. You can get a nice house in Ocala Florida for 250,000 which will accommodate with the pay rate of Florida.
I have never regretted anything more than moving back to SLC. Unless you're LDS it is one of the hardest places to meet people.
Let’s meet up lol
I love that I can be 10 mins from work and have a back yard.
