current experience 4 years
preferred organisation: Big4 or MBB

Just got another rejection... Is exiting to FAANG or MB really this hard? Trying to go tech.. or mbb, but not getting anywhere. I have 2 masters (mba, ms) from top schools, been in consulting for over 10 years, I am confident that I know my stuff well..but still I keep getting rejected. Interviewed with Google, Amazon, Cisco, McKinsey, and a few others and every-time there is something that is not a match... are the hiring managers looking for like 100% match? That will never happen!!!

Does MBB give you a good variety of projects (both in function and industry), and did that help you discover what you want to specialize in (either in consulting or in an industry job)?

How embedded is MBB at the World Bank, WHO, and similar orgs?

I’ve got a friend in Dubai who has experience in IB and VC at junior levels (in London and Dubai) and would like to break into consulting. He’s at a small cap VC at the moment and works not that challenging, and he wants to break into MBB or tier 2 for strategy. Anyone happy to look at his CV?

Which resume line would provide better signaling of talent to employers?

MBB? Or a mid cap VC ($500 AUM, not a name brand like Sequoia). Post MBA level at both, no promotions assumed. Not necessarily focused on future VC path over the long term, but interested in experimenting.

How does Deloitte stack up against MBB in the healthcare space (size/scale of clients, type of work, etc.)? My understanding is that they are all on the same level, and that D is #1 in healthcare m&a.

Recently, my appraisal cycle got completed. So whenever a recruiter asks about CTC, will I need to add the Gratuity and Insurance and then tell the Total number.

In my company Total CTC = CTC + Gratuity + Insurance.

What is average CTC for Scrum Master with 13 years experience in IT and 5+ years as scrum master

I got selected in LTI, the offered CTC is less than my current CTC, HR says they have budget constraints.

They were aware about my current CTC right from the first call.

I also shared the counter offer that I'm holding. (Offered CTC > Current CTC)
Switch won't make sense if I don't get the basic hike.

Account executive here, who has about 5 years of agency experience. Who else is completely over working in advertising and what steps are you taking/planning to make a career move?

Not looking to make a move anytime soon due to covid but am curious to what everyone else is thinking.

Throughout my career, I have worked at both “traditional” and “digital” shops. My current agency would fall under traditional but also offers digital services. Our process, roles and skillsets seem way outdated but I wasn’t sure if it was just my opinion or if this is just how it works. For example, we have no CTO or tech leads. Our digital producers feel more like project managers than actual producers. Account Management is just traditional, no real digital knowledge. Feels layered and dated.

Service design seems a popular role in consulting in the past year or so, certainly seeing more grads go down this route. Is there much overlap with business analysis? When I’ve worked with service designers the output seems to be another version of a process map, are there other skills and experience needed? I’m wondering how easy a move would be from business analysis to service design...
