Anyone here switch sides of the v. throughout their career? Maybe PI to ID, back to PI or vice versa. Was it helpful? Was it better for your career? Which side do you prefer and why? Any input is greatly appreciated!

I’ve known some business defense lawyers who’ve switched sides and struggled. They viewed it as a job, while their contemporaries acted like they were “moral crusaders” battling against “evil corporations and their armies of greedy lawyers who both only care about money.” (Yet taking 50% of the settlement)

funny

I switched from Plaintiff’s side to predominantly Defense and love it. DM me and we can discuss. 😊

Hello. I currently work in-house as a Legal Operations Manager. I am working on a project to expand our network of law firms.

Any recommendations of boutique law firms in CA that have experience in commercial litigation for retail/fashion/apparel/home companies? Specifically consumer class action, unfair business practices, false advertising/17200, data privacy.

Thanks for your recommendations.

Is there anyone on here who’s switched sides - from defense to plaintiff - and can speak to their experience / general things to think about? I’ve just moved and gone on/going through multiple interview rounds with a big defense firm and a plaintiffs firm doing high verdict litigation (established enough to pay pretty good associate salaries). Not trying to jinx myself before any offers, but I’ve really liked the people at both firms and want to take my time to consider all angles (cont)

Does anyone work at a firm where legal assistants don't do legal assistant things? For example, I have to do my scheduling and calendaring. I have to upload documents to our file management system. This morning, a name partners assistant didn't realize the name partner had a depo and didn't confirm it. This is how this firm as been for decades and it's incredibly frustrating to work this way. It's so hard to not stress over this daily.

I work for a small firm (about 20 attorneys) and make 90k. I’m coming up for a raise discussion in a couple of months but don’t know how to go about it/what is reasonable to ask for. I bill about 35 hrs/week at 400/hr, so I think I deserve a bump, especially considering the posture of the market.
