PwC 🐠, I interviewed with the firm about 6 months ago for a Senior Associate position on the forensics team. I wasn’t extended an offer because the position was given to an internal transfer, at least what I was told. I tried reaching out to the recruiter I worked with last time but the email bounced back and wouldn’t be delivered. I was hoping to see / reapply if the group still was looking for seniors.
In your opinion, would it be best to reapply as a cold application?

I am currently pursuing a position to be a 401k workplace planning consultant with Fidelity Investments. I would like to connect with someone who has gone through that training and early hiring process to make sure I have a solid understanding of the position. This is specifically for the Raleigh/Durham NC area if possible.
How to get rid of bloating?

Hey Ana - I actually made a switch first into strategy and ops at Amazon and then into a technical product manager role in AWS AI. I’ve got a technical engineering background, and was lucky enough to build a cool mvp leveraging ML in my consulting tenure which allowed me to network and convince my way into the current role in AWS AI.
Regarding PM roles at Amazon. All the non tech product roles are fluff, i.e., more program management than actual product ones. The only legit technical product roles that are apples to apples compared to google or fb pms are in the AWS technical realm AI, ML or AWS component product build teams or in Amazon device teams like Alexa, etc.
Also, Amazon is likely the most flexible place for you to maneuver between roles if you have the skill set and can convince folks. Other tech companies it can be a hurdle, so Amazon is a great Segway into tech then finding the function you want to do, and then you can branch out to other FAANG or tech roles.
Amazon like any other company has islands of some phenomenal teams, and other island with tough working conditions. That exists everywhere though.
You posted with your real name :)
Regarding Amazon, they have two types of PM roles - tech and non tech. From what I understand, non tech PM roles are more on the commercial side and consulting experience fits in well there. You don’t need to try hard. Tech PM may be tricky as you need some kind of technical experience/background
Yes would it be possible for you to DM me? I’m a new user and unable to DM you. Thanks a lot again!!

Yup - just made a move to PM - tech. I had fun interviewing. It was heavily focused on behavioural stories aligned to the 14 leadership principles and some general business cases - e.g. should Amazon enter the barber industry. For tech - PM they wanted a good tech background and detailed system design knowledge - e.g. how would you design a search filter in Instagram
