My friend’s dad was a firefighter during 9/11 who died very young because of lung cancer. He was one of those who were denied coverage. She was just having a really hard time this week. Her boss knows this and told her last Friday with a straight face that she’s sulking. Some of these VC people man.

Just want some dating advice. I been seeing this guy and we both in for the long haul. He has this best friend, and basically I hate her. I’m a guy btw. How long does it take for you all to commute to work normally? I am moving to Woking soon and am looking to land a consulting gig in London. It will take me 10-20 min to get to the train station, and from then on the train to Waterloo takes 30 mins. Not sure if that’s going to be too long a daily commute by UK standard?

I’m a 7th year associate. I’ve practiced L&E my entire career in big law for large multi-national companies. I like my job, but I’m burned out. I have two kids under two and will, in all likelihood, go for gold and make it three under three to be done. I’m over traveling. I’m over traveling for trials. I’m over litigation in general. I want to switch sides of the v and open my own firm. I’m digging into how feasible this would be for me. Does anyone have any good resources? Books, podcasts, etc

I’ve been practicing in traditional labor for about two years now (although about a decade of labor relations experience) but I’m trying to break into employee benefits law. Unfortunately I’m not being given much experience in benefits as I’m pretty typecast as a labor atty. Any advice on how I can go about getting employee benefit experience? My long term goal is to have benefits be my main area of practice.
