Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.
What do you think?

Not personally but I’ve come across folks who move to Canada, learn Canadian taxes for foreigners working in country, and become a one stop shop for American expats. Seems like the demand is there, and they can charge a premium for being able to handle tax filings in both countries, including the interaction.
I can see that. Thanks for sharing!
Everyone is returning to office, good luck but do not hold your breath
I mean in office in another country could work too, just guessing you’d only find firms doing expat work in a few bigger cities.
Do you do 1040s now?
Yes, probably 90% 1040s, some gift/trust.
I wanna do this too. How hard is it to learn expat taxes? I know the basics of 1040’s.

There are outsourced centers in India and elsewhere but not sure they would let you work remotely from Lake Como …
🤣 well I’m guessing anything I do come across isn’t going to pay me the salary I’d need to be working from Lake Como. Also, this question was not me asking for a ticket to travel the world while working. Wondering if the skills I have are transferable to anything else outside the US. That’s what I get for choosing tax though. 🤪
I work remotely and spend a couple months each year in Japan visiting family. I work on corporate income tax and got really lucky with my role during the remote hiring boom.
