Anyone who has gone from B4 to independent consulting that can share their experience? I have a potential opportunity to work for a small firm (3 people max) and work as an independent consultant. Still W2 but no compliance stuff. Worried about losing financial/medical benefits and not having the ability to “grow” (no roadmap for partner here!) but may be able to use my experience to go completely independent. Benefits says the two are equivalent in coverage except three differences - deductible $3K premium vs $3.5k basic, no monthly payment for basic and no $2K company contribution for basic HDHP. I work on a consulting team at a large software company. I’m a job hopper, around 2 years each at my first and second jobs and a little over a year at this job. I recently found out they’re shutting my team down. We’re not fired, but they’re transferring us to the core implementation team, which has a horrible reputation for malignancy, overworking, and isn’t at all what I was hired to do. How hard is it going to be to for me to find a new job? Should I just stay and try things out? What next?

Got an assignment to be completed as initial screening step. Spent a weekend and provided the best possible solution. Recruiter and hiring manager did not even respond back with any feedback. Height of arrogance.

Plan to go to B-school in 3 years (1 year out of UG now). Long term goal is entrepreneurship. Have offers at a MBB firm for a generalist consultant role and at FAANG for a strategy role. FAANG offer is slightly higher (though both are a 50+% bump on my current comp). Both would have me reset to entry level. Which one should I take?
