I interviewed with Firm A months ago and accepted a position to start this upcoming fall. Group leader called me to offer the position back in November 2020. Besides interviewing with partners at the firms, and diligent follow ups notifying them of my interest to get started, no communication has transpired since. It turns out that I accepted a better offer w/ Firm B for personal reasons and won’t be going to Firm A. What is the best way to notify Firm A? Call/email group leader? Call/email HR?

Worth backing out there's always another company ready to hire you. If you don't like it you'll be like me ready to leave after a year. I also had that same feeling after my internship
You might have a hard time rejoining that firm but I doubt it would go any further than that. Also demand is crazy high so with a few years of experience they'd still hire you.
I’ve done it before and been fine. You may just have to wait a few years to apply to that company again.
Also, you are an adult. Don’t know why your parents’ pressure is relevant here.
