Anyone work at Citadel? One of my recruiters is constantly sending me roles over there and I’m wondering… Are they so large that they’re just always hiring or is there a crappy EA culture so there’s a lot of turnover? Somebody spill the tea please!

For all you retail people...are you experiencing a very slow holiday season? I am a retail manager and I feel like this season has been freakishly slow. I thought we would at least match last year's number or be up a little bit but we are trending down. I talked to employees of other stores in the mall and they are saying the same thing. Is anyone else experiencing this in their market?

I can’t stand our open office so every day I go to the bathroom and hide out for 15 minutes of sanity/checking my apps so people can’t see me “not doing work” in public.

There is someone in senior leadership who consistently has a target on someone’s back. They pressure their reports and team members to complain to HR about said target until action is taken. Cont’d

I left my job without having anything else lined up otherwise I would have had a mental breakdown. I’m not even in that great of a financial place, but it was my job or my sanity. I know at least three other people who, in the past few months, have left with nothing lined up. I feel like it’s something we need to be talking more about. Is QEF inclusion dividend or not? Sometimes, I see QEF inclusion reported on Line 11i and sometimes on Line 6a. I think we can rely on Sec. 1293(c) but I think it’s not foolproof. My hunch is since QEF regime is tailored to treat the PFIC similar to domestic mutual funds, we should not treat the QEF inclusion as dividends. Any help is appreciated.

Have you seen women wear ties and "masculine"-looking suits to work? Was it accepted by client and team? I've never worn a tie to work, but when I've worn clothing that had a more "masculine" fit either in grad school or some work environments, I've gotten comments and looks, or sometimes asked (or people gossiped) about my orientation. When I wear more "feminine"-looking clothing, I feel more more uncomfortable and awkward. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m getting put up for manager a year early. I have PPMD ,SM, and M support. Pretty much support from all the key individuals on my team and in my service line. Since it is a year early if i don’t get promoted this round I know it’ll come mid year but I do expect a good salary increase still without the promo. If I don’t get the promo nor a salary increase that I’m okay with, how do I let my partner know that I will begin to entertain outside offers? some of which have offered the manager role.

I am looking for a service that can consistently provide traveler alerts such as when car has arrived, passenger is on board, trip competed, etc. across US cities. I have found a company that will do this when I book travel in NYC, but when my Professionals arrive in their destination cities the affiliates do not offer this same feature. Any suggestions? I’ve recently started work at a very young tech startup. Coming from a big law background, this was a huge change of pace/environment. I’m having a lot of trouble getting used to how unstructured the startup is. It feels like hire ups give a set of instructions then talk as if they don’t remember, or then decided rules A, B, C and D applies without being clear this was the case. Has anyone gone from being an admin to working in IT ? I have a big interest but not sure where to start. My current company has an IT department that I may be able to look into.

Do you find working remotely during this time that you’re having a harder time staying on top of everything that’s going on? Hello, after doing some research I believe I’m being underpaid. About 4 months ago HR did a market analysis for my role. They bumped my salary for about $2k. I’m a mid-level Executive assistant with 6 years of experience and currently supporting 5 executives at a fortune 50 company. One C level and 4 Vice Presidents. I’m currently making $61,000 with bonus included. Based on my research I should at least be making $71,400. I have a check in with my boss tomorrow and I am asking for a raise.

Welp! Finally got the axe today too. I didn’t even get to talk to my manager. One of the execs I support told me he’s very sorry and I was great, etc etc, but it couldn’t be avoided. Whatever. I kind of never want to work again. I’m heartbroken.
