Firms a generally flexible and mostly depends on who you work for at a partner and manager level. What ticks me off are the newer folks who think it's their birth right to work from home when they want without informing or requesting their seniors or a mangers. They don't realize it's a privilege earned and not a given!
I think it depends more on the client/team.
It depends on the position. I can barely ever work at home even when I'm unassigned, because I'm usually in the office with people who need more supervision. And when I'm on a client, forget it. Unless I have a really good reason, I only work at home once a month or so (I mean, other than working at home every night....). My (regional) firm likes us to get as much face time as possible. 😒
Most firms are flexible , especially at the manager and above levels.
@OP based on pwc, EY, and Deloitte friends, PwC is the best about the work from home thing.
I never get to work from home. Would love if I could just once a week.
Nope I work from home once a week. Sometimes twice if it's not too busy.
^i think it's a matter of communicating your needs and negotiating something that works for you. I'm just getting to a point where I can sometimes spend half of a day at home. It's important that somebody keep the staff working, and be there to answer questions and delegate work, though...
My team is pretty much either at the client site, or at home. And we don't work from the client site for the sake of working there. So far last three weeks all but two days have been at home.
Ugh. My boss sometimes makes me go to the client literally just to be there and tells me he knows I need to work on other things. Just to maintain our presence. 🙄
Had a senior who only went to the office when she needed to do a Walkthrough or when the partner and senior managers were going to be in for a meeting. As long as you get your work done the team may be flexible.
