Well as Trump supporter, I just nod in agreement and contribute nothing to the conversation. At least in my experience only people who disapprove of him are vocal about their political affiliations.
Plenty, especially with clients where there are good relationships. I personally think people should have no problem discussing politics in a constructive and respectful way, even if they're on opposite sides of a topic.
Politics will come up all the time. I'm comfortable having a non confrontational conversation about politics where I can express my beliefs in a no offensive way. It leads to very interesting conversations.
if you are a normal rational adult engage in the conversation without revealing your own personal beliefs, and don't be an idiot that gets offended by the other person's opinions. if you are a millennial who is easily triggered and believes that any opinion different from your own is hatred and/or bigotry it is best to avoid engaging in political discussion.
Heard the owner of the Seigfried group talks about his political views in trainings etc (source Glassdoor)
Got raged on by the OMPs husband at at the xmas party (prior firm). Totally not fun and the wife has not attended a company event since.
Ya I think for the most part people just say lots of surface level stuff and everyone just laughs it off or makes it non confrontational. I've never experienced a heated argument about politics. Although me and a manager had a convo about vaccinations that clearly got him heated. I was playing a bit of devils advocate though and it stayed respectful.
