A lot of the discussion around how to be found in AI searches discusses the fact that your name and content needs to be findable by LLMs and agents, that your content needs to live in its own space (including blogs), and then repurposed across multiple channels, including other blogs, media outlets of all sorts, that talk about your brand and how it is a leader in XYZ and linking back to your site. Andy Crestodina has a ton of info on this. Another thing I found out recently is that the LLMs are not scraping video or podcasts, but are grabbing text from their transcripts. So the written word on blogs and websites that basically answers questions people are asking is what has names/brands popping up in AI search engine results. And so blogs are a part of that.
People still read blogs?
Not people.
But search engines do.
Blogs matter for SEO, and SEO still matters no matter how many edgy "SEO is dead!" headlines you read.
And it will continue to be relevant. The best practices for AI and LLM results are just turning out to be the same best practices we've always used in SEO.
