Ivy + biglaw will always get interviews over others. I don't like it, but that's just how the world works.
Yep, big reason why I’ll most likely leave the profession eventually. Glass ceiling without the credentials
I'm a 5y corp associate at a V10. I'm getting a ton of interest in the 200k - 250k base salary range after only about a month of serious applying. Reading the bowl, it seems like a lot of people with my YOE are struggling to get interviews. I think the ~~prestige~~ factor is probably helping quite a bit.

depends, pedigrees are only really impressive in academia or maybe prestigious law firms. whats more important is yoe in a niche area of law and your ability to provide business actionable legal counsel without long winded memos that a biglaw firm attorney would often draft

not really i know plenty of SVPs or senior in house attorneys with non biglaw backgrounds at F500 or FAANG
Generally, yes, but it’s of course industry specific too. But I think the cushier “white glove” in house jobs tend to hire big law and order top law school (or both) alumni.
Good exits, yes. I’m in house at a F50, and people are either coming straight from big law, or went from mid law to a smaller in house gig before moving to my company.
I’m also in-house at a F50, and it’s the same here. The only exceptions tend to be highly regarded boutiques (BigLaw equivalent) or high end government (e.g., USDOJ).
Yes. At the top of the market many companies want to see AmLaw100/BigLaw pedigree.
Even where they don’t, remember it is a competition.
