Does anyone else feel concerned that once the fed raises rates and inflation falls or stagnates, Milbank scale will remain but the current associate’s market will not? The incremental risk of being laid off is not worth an extra $10-20k imo.

In my first year as an audit associate I got rated bottom bucket in every category. I think this traumatized me. I have since jumped firms and constantly get great reviews. Even got a mid year promotion one year. But I can’t help but think I’m on the verge of being fired.

Recently laid off at a small gov contracting firm (non cyclical to this economy). My wife and I are expecting and thankfully live below our means. She has a great job too, thankfully…How should I maximize my severance and what should I ask for beyond cash? They offered 2 months of cash and my stock paid out. I was employed for 2 years. They at one point extended the potential of partnership and I’d like more, and they have the money. Should I ask for lump sum or spread it out?
Currently onboarding to a new role, at a global bank, and they are asking for a termination letter from a previous consulting employer from 2 years ago. I provided the background check company proof that I was eligible for unemployment since I did not get fired; it was due to performance, too technical for me. However I do not have any letter stating why I was let go. I have been requesting a letter for over 2 weeks from the employer but they’re not answering. Do I have to provide this ?
