OP this question has several answers based on where in the GC process you are. Suggest talk to your immigration attorney and they may be able to give you the correct answer and the options available.
If you are close to applying for your I140 the attorneys generally ask you to wait till it is approved (assuming they apply in premium). If your labor is not filed and you have enough time left on your current H1 to come back to start the process again, that will be good. I don’t know that the answer is if your labour is filed but not approved.
