I got a remote L6 SWE offer at Google but the RSUs are too low for that level ($625k over 4 years), could not negotiate it higher. I’ve accepted the offer but trying to be hopeful that I could make it more equitable in the future if I perform well. Are stock refreshers based on the initial RSU grant or solely based on performance? Google

You had to pick remote as your way of working back in 2021. New hires since 2021 don’t get a choice, hybrid is the expectation.
depends on your team. the pressure would come from your team. i havent been in the office since march 2020. im hybrid.
I am remote, but willing to travel to clients monthly-it’s a win win for all. I travel to less interesting places, but only one time per month.
Remote roles for accounting exist but depends on the firm and you need to look harder. You need to look at their office locations and see if you are within a reasonable commute distance. If you live in a big city, large firms most likely will have offices in your city and wont have fully remote roles, but smaller firms may have. Some big firms I know that do not require in office now are Crowe, CohnReznick, BakerTilly.
S2, BT1 is correct. I was from BT originally. I went to the office twice the entire time i was at BT.

No one is being hired into remote; only hybrid.
I’ve been contact for remote roles by PWC a few times, even considered once, they said once a quarter the team meets in FL but otherwise fully remote
I opted for remote back in 2021, and I will continue to do it until they force me back
I am in industry and work remote. I only go into the office once a month.
I’m with a national team (at PwC) and I’m 100% remote. No one I work with is in my local office so they genuinely don’t care. I’ve literally never been to the local office. I do go to the holiday parties and some events tho!
I’m remote (not hybrid) in industry. Investment management industry, VP level. I am also hiring the right candidates for tax senior and tax manager level. Can be remote if it’s the right fit. Due to lack of proven experience, any associate level hires would be hybrid (4 days a week in office) as they do not have a proven track record over enough time
