Are the layoffs occurring in the UK as well, or are they limited to the US?

Has anyone been fired? How’d you bounce back? How did you approach it when applying for new jobs? I’m legitimately worried I’ll be fired and could use some advice.

If you are laid off for hours, what is a neural reason for saying that your employment ended? Especially if there is a month or two break in finding employment.

Recent lateral junior associate in brand new practice where I'm the only associate. I'm probably going to bill 1,500 hours max this year due to being very slow and taking time off for a delayed honeymoon which I disclosed during my interview process. I have been told my work product is good, I don't turn anything down, I participate in non-billable work, I'm responsive and I always let people know I'm available to help. Do I need to be worried about getting fired for low hours?

My LinkedIn feed was absolutely filled with layoffs today. What happened? A month or two ago it was a candidate’s market and the offers were great but now everything has shifted. I was informed that I am not getting a promotion that I was gunning for, and when I pushed back about being fairly compensated for my work the response about it not being a good time to ask was really ominous. Just how bad would it be to quit without a two week notice? I’ve been bait & switched into a horrible role, overworked to the point of having medical problems, and no amount of diplomatic talks with my manager has improved the day to day. My mental health and my personal relationships have been on a steady decline.
