I’ve been thinking about looking for a new job, but given everything going on with the Coronavirus and layoffs, it doesn’t seem like this is a good time to start looking. What do others think?

Hi AWS fishes. How bad are layoffs at Amazon? Hearing news of more than 10000 people getting laid off. Are they happening within AWS as well? I am about to join AWS in few weeks and getting bit worried considering the situation. Thanks.

A couple months back, I had an offer for a BDR position that I ended up turning down but I really liked and connected with the manager. Is it worth it to reach out? Need some suggestions from everyone. I have 4.5 years experience and I was working as contractor in ZS and my CTC in parent company was 7 Lakhs.

ZS were willing to offer me FTE as ZS but at a compensation of meagre 8.5 Lakhs. I tried negotiating but they sticked with this.

How come ZS do that? Why can't they pay more as they generally pay 15+ for 4.5 years experience.

Anyone have any friends who successfully pivoted out of advertising? I know a handful of people who are half-trying to, but I can’t think of anyone who has made a clean break, on their own terms, into something that appears to be making them feel more fulfilled than they were in the ad biz. So they continue freelancing in order to make a living, while not gaining much traction elsewhere.

Any BCBA’s in the Memphis area? I’ll be relocating there soon and testing. Looking to meet others in the field!
