Are there salary/bonus increases after 8th year at a lock step firm? Or are you tied to the 8th year associate salary as a 9th, 10th, etc?

What does it mean if there’s a NEP at the firm who’s been there for a long time (20+ years), but never got promoted to EP? Never held leadership roles too. Does it usually mean EPs does not like the NEP enough to get promoted?

First year associate and I may barely hit 1500 this year. Requirement is 2000, though i know first and some second years at my firm don’t hit it.
