Yes. Not just for big law attorneys; for white-collar professionals. I know because my friend’s spouse does this. They refer to themselves as a therapist for high-functioning professionals.

Yes—this post comes up fairly often (understandably so). In a previous thread someone mentioned a licensed provider with several BL clients (as their spouse works in BL so knows the unique quirks of the industry vs. other white collar jobs).

Recommendations? I really need one

Friends!
I think bowl leader is clear in his pinned post that we refrain from excessive negative posts and posts that my hurt people’s sentiments.

Understand the freedom of speech at the same time we should be aware that the spoof of Goddess Durga’s image posted below is offensive to a bunch of us; similarly a poster from EY calling people cow urine drinkers is offensive.

Would request people to refrain from knowingly hurting people’s sentiments.

Beginning to consider going in house (4th, corp) - I really haven’t thought about what I want, partly because I’m not sure what’s out there/attainable. Is it a bad idea to start by applying to a couple positions that interest me and seeing where that gets me? I’ll of course prep for the interviews but am afraid to burn potential bridges if I ultimately decline because I’m still figuring things out.

Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. I’ve worked twice as hard and feel like I’ve barely even gotten half as much. It’s discouraging sometimes especially because I worked so hard with pretty much no guidance (first gen, poc, low-income) to get into college and do well and then get into a t30 law school

To the lender counsel that forgot to mention they needed original signature pages for a deal that closed early this year and decided to chase and harass me a day before thanksgiving and a day after thanksgiving multiple times. F*ck you. I don’t know what is driving your lack of courtesy but I have represented the same bank before and know their usual original signature requirement.

I have ADD and occasionally make small mistakes in my work, like leaving a word missing when editing sentences, small formatting errors or leaving an internal comment in drafts sent to clients. All partners have been very understanding and care about the quality of my work, and no client has ever complained. Partners and clients praise my work.

But now, one partner has become super mad and when I explained ADD, he said:

Considering a jump from Chicago to New York. I truly love living in Chicago and how far this salary gets me but I definitely want to try to make it in New York.

The only problem is my significant other has a lot of negative opinions about New York. I ultimately want to return to DC but I feel like a few good years in New York would be really good for me. In terms of a place to live, where in Manhattan can I find a place that's similar to River North in Chicago?
