Are you doing anything different for Thanksgiving this year? 🍂This year, we’re skipping the big hosting stress and keeping it simple. Just good food, a slower day, and actually enjoying the people we’re with instead of running around. It already feels like a relief. Anyone else doing things differently this year?

Can't go wrong with football!

It's going to be business as usual here. My parents and in-laws are coming over to eat around 2. We'll hang with them until it's time for the kids to go to bed, then they'll take off and I will melt into the couch eating leftovers and watching football.

That actually sounds perfect! Family time, good food, and then a well-earned couch melt with leftovers and football. Honestly, that’s the real Thanksgiving vibe!

My wife and I have decided not to travel the last couple years and go out for a nice lunch. It’s been awesome! No stress, food prep, or cleanup

That’s such a good idea! Skipping the travel and the kitchen chaos sounds like the definition of a stress-free holiday 😅

My wife and I have successfully avoided going to her parents for Thanksgiving the last 5 years, but we are out of excuses. They hate me. Should be a great time.

Oh man, that sounds rough. Hopefully it ends up being better than you expect. Sometimes the buildup is worse than the actual day. Sending you luck!

Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

Just a reminder that outside our bubble no-one really cares about firm prestige etc.

It’s interesting to see several articles and surveys emerging saying the initial bump in productivity from mass remote working has started to come down or even go negative as the novelty wears off and people start to get worn down from longer hours, the stresses of having kids at home full time, burn out from increased workloads, stress from the pandemic, etc. Curious to here people’s thoughts, do you think you’re less productive now than back around the April timeframe?
