But Amex plat also gets you a priority pass, right? Should get you into all CSR lounges and more
Thanks for flagging A1. CSR gets you access to at least 2-5 lounges per major airport globally, whereas Plat is strictly Centurion Lounge (which is pretty damn bougie) and Delta.
CSR (vs. AMEX Plat) for versatility in points between travel and dining while Plat is only for travel. With the 1.5x for CSR, 3x becomes 4.5x which is close to Plat. While Plat has $200 in travel credit for ancillary air items, CSR has $300 in travel credit for any travel. The $200 Uber is kinda whatwver for me since it's only released as ~$15/month. Lounges are nice for Plat, but not enough to make up for what was stated above. Note though Plat might give you higher status on airlines (delta I believe) and SPG which might be worthwhile for you.
Team of the old Prestige...
Love the platinum
Both and I come out way ahead. Annual fees are just paying for the services and benefits that may or may not be worth the cost based on your personal needs
Both and citi bank exec platinum for the American clubs and the 10k in status miles at he 40k spend point. CSR for the $300 travel credit and benefits like if you crash the rental car they cover it. Amex for centurion lounges and same reasons as CSR. They all have their purposes and we use all of them.
CSR because more lounges + cheaper annual fee
Plat gets you gold for Hilton and gold for Marriott which is nice. I'm not sure what lounges the CSR gets you that the plat doesnt like c1 says. Plat gets you priority pass, Centurion Lounge and delta lounges if flying delta.
Oh also I've found that more places accept visa. Just my experience
C1/m1- plat also has priority pass which has a global network of 1000+ lounges. It's the same thing CSR has
A1, I believe it's the same network then, no? CSR also uses Priority Pass. But O1 had a good point - Visa is accepted pretty much everywhere
