Great skill set, python is gold right now. You could try to pivot into data science, financial data engineer, or maybe a product analyst or product manager (given you’re currently senior). Idk about less OT work but it’s definitely gonna bring you a higher salary (starting $115k-$150k depending on role and location of course). The other thing, you’re already an analyst. Just try another analyst or manager role that you think is best fit for you.

Are private companies easier to work at than public companies in accounting? We have such an accelerated close deadline at the publicly traded company I’m at now, I really hate the inflexible tight deadlines and analysis seems to drag on forever after that. We also close AP/AR very early in the month yet that doesn’t stop payments/receipts from happening so we’re constantly adjusting our accruals until the end of month. Do private companies start their close after the month actually ends?
