Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Yeah, be well prepared.... case in point - do your research. Decode and conquer strategy usually helps along with framework however it is also on general awareness, mental mathematics.
Practice is always good, but also take a good look at your intrinsic skill set and double down on your strengths and be aware where you need to compensate for weaknesses
All the practice in the world can’t make up for substantial gaps in intrinsics.

Practice makes better. It’ll be super awkward at first but keep practicing
Hire an ex McKinsey case interview coach and find a strong case partner or multiple. I did this, am a current consultant, and still didn’t get the offer. I probably spent 30 hrs studying. Needed to spend a lot more time practicing I guess.
Practice practice practice. Go to consulting case 101, case interview partner, and prep lounge to find partners
Book: case weights
Course: crafting cases
Plataform: rocket blocks
Lots of practices. I did more than 60 cases, and thus I applied more than 60 as well. A lot of practice on my own, actually more than case interviews, and specially for fast mental math. Read cases, try to solve it on your own, check for flaws, do it again, many many many times. Case weights has a great study guide, you can follow it. The pyramid principle and topdown communication is a key principle, issue trees and mece are also important.
Don't forget about PEI. PEI is just as much important as the case interview, and takes as much hours of practice.
Worked hard but made it!
