At the beginning of the pandemic, some Publicis Sapient top and mid managers renounced a part time of their salaries, in an effort to show compassion for lower income colleagues and people forced into cutting hours or terminated.
Now, these managers get a bonus to offset what they renounced, plus some. There are still people working shorter hours, not receiving any bonus. Yay.
I feel this. I’m at a Publicis agency and leadership made a big deal about how they were taking a cut, just to find out they’re being retroactively paid back anyways. Meanwhile, I’m basically working 2 jobs because we still haven’t been able to backfill a position on the team for over a year. Granted no pay cut, but also no salary increase for 1.5 years. I’m hoping that we’ll get approved for decent raises to make up for the other sacrifices we’ve had to make.
