Rising Star
I’ve literally never wanted to have a roommate and the first thing I prioritised and treated myself to when I could afford it was to get my own room. Then came my own apartment.
As an introvert, I need my peace and privacy.
I ruined with my best friend from ages 25-31.
From 25-29 it was great. I saved a bunch of money, I had a friend to explore the city with, and I was traveling every week anyways.
When covid hit, things became tougher. I didn't need a roommate financially but I was still trying to get things aligned so I could buy an apartment. I could afford much nicer stuff than him, so that became a point of contention. Dating with a roommate became less acceptable - girls in their 30s aren't interested in guys with roommates. We were around each other ALL the time - it's tough to enjoy your living room when there's someone else there 24/7. Eventually by the end I think we were mutually done with the whole having a roommate thing.
It was fun, I don't regret moving out sooner or later, but I'll never do that again.
I haven’t had a roommate since I was 22
Same!
After my freshman roommate got drunk and peed on me I decided that I never needed a roommate ever again.

My wife is my roommate now so I guess never
21 -after college I was over the roommate situation

Unpopular opinion but I’ve always loved having a roommate … I’ve actually never not had one 😳 went from college to law school to living with my boyfriend who is now my husband… but I get bored by myself easily so like having someone to do something with!
I’m 27 and have my own place. I think if someone is 30 and still has roommates it’s kind of weird.
Ok someone tell me why this is funny? Lol
23 now and just moved into my first place without a roommate
I’m 30 and have roommates, I get bored talking to my wall.
I’m a guy, 30, I enjoy when I see my roommates having some beers, playing Xbox, chilling in the living room. Coming home without people at times to me is depressing lol!
Following. I lived alone for a bit, then got a housemate at 29. Don’t really regret it since it saved a ton. Still looking to move back alone in the next few months. It all depends on what you want/your lifestyle

Haven’t had a roommate since 20. Not sure I can go back
Depends. If I’m moving to a new city I would get roommates so that I’ve a group to hang with.
12, when my step brother moved in
For me it's more when financially than when in terms of age
After grad school 23
30, if you can afford it obviously
Assuming reasonable financial means, feel like a 28 year old with roommates is still normal, a 32 year old with roommates? Not so much
After college I moved to the worst apartment in the best neighborhood which ended up being a 10 min walk from my post college job just so I could live on my own. It wasn’t in a HCOL city, I paid less than $700/month for a janky studio for a year and then less then $800/month for a bigger still janky studio down the hall in the same building for 3 yrs. I had poor experiences with roommates for the first two years of college, got a single my junior year and lived with 6 guys in a house (I’m a girl) for my senior year. It was time to be on my own..I live with my fiancé now though 🙂
Never! I am married many years, but if I were to get back to being single, would prefer a roomie. I love roommates!!! Keeps life much more fun with friends around.
