You need to ask the recruiter before any interviews are scheduled how many rounds of interviews/steps there are before a decision will be made. For me, if they can’t decide after 2 interviews, I choose not to bother. Too many companies think nothing of wasting your time, or are not committed to actually filling a position at market rate.
That’s insane. I would definitely send them a rejection letter.

Yes! Let’s turn it on then. Do you really want to work for a company that will willingly string you along?
The take-home model is where I would have called it quits. I’ll go in for a bunch of interviews, but unpaid work at home is where I draw the line.
Did 12 rounds including a full day onsite I had to take a day off for. Also had a take home case study, logic assessment, personality assessment and in the end I didn’t get the offer and they didn’t even tell me, just ghosted. Competitive job market so unfortunately I’d probably do it again
