I've been interviewing with some companies, and now I have to decide between JPMorgan Chase and Globant.
Globant is more innovative, and has remote work. I will enter to work with a Sillicon Valley startup based in San Francisco. The tech stack is React, Nextjs, AWS, and a serverless architecture.
JPM is semi remote, and less innovative. The tech stack Java, SpringBoot and AWS. But I'd do more migration tasks, like dockerize projects and pass them to kubernetes. What would you choose?

I would just go for it. Why are you against leaving your company? It doesn't matter if you need to leave or current role in a certain time span, if you think the other role is a better fit, apply and see what happens. An interview won't help you in the future. Talk with the people over coffee and not an interview to make connections.
Interviewing for a role won’t create relationships. Who says there will be an open role in a year? The people who interview you may no longer be on that team. And if they are why would they consider you again when you wasted their time?
These are my thoughts exactly. I don't know that interviewing for a position that you don't plan to take would really even help you.
I say go for it. As you said, you've been interested in that other role for quite some time and that you're feeling positive it would come out as planned. Good luck with this!
The role with the old company may not be available next year. If you are always been interested in that role, what's stopping you now from leaving your current position? You are given the opportunity and you only have to choose one.
That is very true.
Sometimes you have to be selfish and think for yourself. Companies do not reward loyalty anymore. If you apply and leave them hanging, it might be game over for you for wasting their time.
If you are interested in the role, then go for it. Who knows, that position might be available only this time and you'll miss your shot if you don't apply. So go for it.
