Been in PA for about 3 years now and joined my current firm about 10 months ago…(currently 1st senior)

I had a recruiter reach out to me with a Finance Manager opportunity which would increase my base 60% with 20K bonus. Is it worth leaving now? This is a company I really admire and would hate to miss on the opportunity.

Only 2 cons: I don’t want to seem job hoppy, and I would likely be going into the office twice a week rather than being fully remote. Any advice??

get an offer first then decide later

even if you didn't want to leave Deloitte, you could leverage the offer to get a retention bonus and nice raise

Take it and run

A recruiter's message means very little. Interview and see what sort of an actual offer you can get, then make a decision.

like

Going into the office should not factor in to anything, especially if it’s only 2 days. Think long term and choose what is best for what you want to do long term

like

Actually it should and does for many people.

like

Yeah don’t even think seriously about this unless you have an offer.

Interview, what do you have to lose. You can always say no. And you may not even get it

you need to create a long-term goal. After you've decided what you want to eventually become, pursue the job that will best put you in a position to achieve that goal. Short term comp bumps are great but shouldn't be the only relevant factor.

Only concern would be do you think your ready for a manager role with only 3 YOE? You already job hopped to get senior, with less than 1 YOE, if the manager role doesn't work out, your resume would tell an interesting story.

Interested in working in PE, but experiences align more with the Ops side (3 YOE in strategic value creation). Is there a significant difference in total comp potential between ops and investments roles? Not sure how to make a case to break into investments with minimal DD experience, so thinking about Ops recruitment (Associate). Would also be grateful to learn about potential strategies non-DD focused consultants have used to ultimately break into investment teams.

For those who are looking for permanent remote options

When I was hired, I don't recall being informed about my salary being tied to my location. My employment contract also only makes one mention of location, and says "home office" and my state. I was recently told by HR though that if I move, my comp. will be lower. Is this legal? Should I consult a labor lawyer?

In my mind, I don't recall being told this and it's not clear from my employment contract, so I feel like they're breaking our agreement, and it feels unfair.

Thoughts on what to do?
