Been on long-term contract since March 2020 - was offered FTE a few times but package had low base and lots of stock, small bonus so I stayed on day rate. I was cut 2 weeks ago w/other FL'ers due to lack of projects this summer. They want to bring me back in the fall. Given how bad the market is, I was hoping to coast this summer, spend time w/the kids, relax and go back in Sept. But nothing is confirmed and I am worried about having no income. I haven't reached out to my network yet. Advice?

I recently went freelance as an EP and started my own LLC as well (to get the full benefits of being a freelancer). Some agencies and clients want to pay on a W2 versus 1099 / as an independent contractor. Should I still take the gig if W2 or stand my ground and pass?
