Being a creative director doesn’t seem fun. Yeah they get paid more, but they all seem overworked and stressed. I feel like senior is a sweet spot.

So why do company merges result in mass layoffs?

VMLY&R merged with Geometry, to develop the "most powerful commerce capability and ad agency at global scale", who's worked with them because this seems like a stretch based on my experience with both.

It’s hard to be motivated when rounds of layoffs happen and you see all your friends leave. But one thing that’s gotten me through all of this is working out. And when I say workout I mean the most pathetic, sad, barely completed beginner-level cardio dance routines. I’ve somehow forced myself to move while on lockdown and it’s somehow forced me to feel better. Whatever you’re doing, wherever you are: get up and move even if you don’t finish or end up going on a walk. Pls take care of yourself❤️

Does anyone else feel like people who are generally nice in person and on calls sound mean or stand-offish in emails and text/chat? I get that over-use of friendliness in text can come off as green/immature, but I tend to try and cushion my words with positivity or even exclamation marks/the occasional emoji to show that I don't sound completely unemotional.

Or maybe i'm just an overthinking copywriter who's reading into it too much.
