Besides sending a thank you note after an interview, is there anything you can do to convince the job manager that you’re capable of doing the job?

Getting so many replies for referrals to big 4 but how likely will I get hired lol? Tried it once and never got a word back.

Waiting for an offer, do they check references before or after giving offer? And normally how long after interview will I hear back?
