Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Nespresso is your only choice for pod espressos. I would also look into an automatic or semi-automatic machine like a Jura.
I have a Swiss-made Pixie and a separate milk frother. Do not buy virtuo. Stick with classic pods.
If it uses pods, it's not espresso 🤌🤌🤌
Nespresso pods have a lot of aluminum. I would rather spend the extra 5 minutes on something less toxic.

I did a taste test using, the same coffee beans but ground to appropriate sizes, between:
1) Nespresso Breville VertuoLine that uses the round pods
2) MOKA pot
3) French press
4) De’Longhi espresso machine (a low end model)
The result was the MOKA pot delivering on flavor by a mile. Espresso machine came second and the Nespresso came in last. French press was not bad although I’d have used a different bean/ roast
I’m currently alternating between my MOKA pot and French press. I agree the moka pot has better flavor and if done right comes out with a thick creaminess too it. Although French press is much easier/quicker in my opinion so that’s used much more frequently.
Pro
Man idk. The idea that plastic pods are touching scalding hot water steers me away completely from pods.
Nespresso is aluminum pods.
Jura is 💯
I like my Nespresso and separate milk frother. Takes me 2 mins to make 2 cappuccinos
I just have the simplest Essenza. I think one model up looks great too and once this thing dies might go for it. But I've had the essential one for almost 3 years now, ocassionally descale it (there's a separate box I buy for that) and that's it. I have a separate milk frother from Nespresso which I got when there was a sale.
Nespresso can be good but get one with good self cleaning buttons. Need to be able to clean and descale or the taste will deteriorate rapidly.
We ended up selling our nespresso and getting a Breville bc of this, but if cleaning/descaling was easier (like the breville makes it) we likely could have been happy enough
Pro
OP, do you not just flick it on then grab your milk, mug etc while it heats for like 10 sec? I have the Pro and it heats in like 2 sec, but I’m still grabbing my mise en place and run a blank shot to warm it up for a solid 30 sec. Also not sure why grounds are getting all over your counter, do you use a knock box?
Anyway, I agree that the Nespresso Vertuo is your best bet for a pod system. I feel you that not every morning is one where I want to be spending 3-4 min at my machine being very attentive, sometimes I just need my coffee instantly
