Practice practice practice... if you're taking level 1 this sat, I would make sure you're exhausting the mocks and qbank. Also brush up on ethics
Not taking it this Saturday. Hoping to take it in June. But have had zero practice so far. Don't know the best resources to read
Forget the CFA institute materials, they are not written well. You have time so read the schweser study books. EY provides them to you for free. You'll also receive access to the Qbank and 3 practices tests. Do as many Qbank questions as possible and take the practice tests no earlier than a month before the exam. What level are you taking in June?
^sorry hit send too quickly. Not EY, PwC should comp the schweser materials
EY, thanks for the help. Really informative. I don't know if PwC will comp the books since I don't plan on staying 3 years. Looking to get level 2 by June 2018 and then switching to a new job. That being said, what have you heard about the Wiley study guide? It's 1/10 the price of Schweser; hopefully not 1/10 the quality
For level 1, agree with E1 - you should study using the schweser notes and assuming you have somewhat of a finance background, you can start studying late jan if you want. I used the Wiley notes somewhat for L2; they're fine but I find schweser a bit easier to follow. Also, if you're resourceful enough, you may just find the materials around...
Agree with D1. Schweser seems easier to understand and the concepts are presented a bit more logically. I would also ask around/check with your firm to see if you need to stay the full 3 years to receive the comp'ed study materials. Some firms will reimburse as you pass each level. Any materials you can get for free will be helpful.
