Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Why would you need to check your bags
Liquids I wanted to carry lol that’s not the point
Don’t cut it so close if you want to check bags. On you.
Defending airlines despite their incompetence. Bold strategy
Drink the bottle of whiskey pre flight. That will show them
Don't check bag.
The one time it happened to me they still checked it. The agent told me it wasn't guaranteed to make it on the plane though.
Yeah you can definitely sweet talk a late bag check - done it a few times. And yes I would definitely complain and get some miles out of it
You were cutting it way close on that bag check even for a 7 AM departure.
Isn’t an hour before a flight more than enough time for a consultant? Even if you’re checking a bag.
When I first started, I didn’t know this was a thing. I arrived 55 min before departure, had an issue finding the ticket counter, and needed to check a large bag for a two week trip. 5 min past cutoff on my first biz trip and I had to beg to get my bag on so that I wouldn’t show up late, or without any clothes.
Yes complain, the cut off is 30 mins at most airports and if they truly didn’t notify you of the time change you would have been fine for a 7am departure
Doesn’t help the OP given checking the bag was driven by liquids, but if it’s just a size issue, bring the bag through security (the TSA doesn’t care if it’s larger than airlines allow as carryons) and then gate check it if you’re at risk of missing the bag check cutoff.
Depends on if it was a normal sized bag or not. If it’s a larger bag it usually won’t fit through the scanner
