If the 2.5 yoe you have was in s&o consulting, you'll probably be brought in as a Consultant. Otherwise, definitely associate consultant.
Associate Consultant is anywhere between 80-100 depending on location.
S&O Consultant is anywhere between 100-130, depending on location.
My wife just got 95 as a BAS / S&O AC in NYC for reference.

The interview process varies. In my market, coming from Accenture, the interviews were mostly focused on discussing the work I had done at Accenture and assessing whether I was a good cultural fit. There are some scenarios in which we've done case interviews, if people are coming from industry instead, but I don't think there's a hard and fast rule. I will note that different markets may approach things differently. With 2.5 years of experience you would likely be brought in as a consultant. I'm not sure what the salary range is for that position, but I can tell you that our compensation is generally lower than the rest of the industry. I went from 142k at Accenture to 125k at Slalom, and as a BAS senior consultant making 130k I fall into the top quartile of the salary range for the position.
Yes, 120k is very fair for Consultant at DC.
What about senior consultant pay ranges in DC? Seems lowish
Senior consultant makes anywhere between 130-190k in DC
