Can anyone shed some light on what a Morgan and Morgan associate (3-6 years) typically makes a year in Florida (average total annual comp - I know it varies depending on cases)? I have some friends who work there as mid-level associates who throw out insane numbers ($300k - $500k a year, and I have heard as high as $800k) and before I start questioning my life choices, would like to know if this is standard for Morgan and Morgan, if these are just extreme outliers, or if everyone’s just lying.

It’s really odd that so many people work for Morgan and Morgan; however, when a question is asked about pay there, none of the employees in here respond. LOL.

The salary is low, given the job duties. There.

The favorites (managing attorneys) get all of the big cases funneled to them. The rest of the lawyers fight over rear enders with liability issues that some paralegal in Florida signed up without knowing what they’re doing. Then you’re forced to handle the bad ones no matter what

like

It all comes down to the value of cases you will be handling. I’ve heard that at M&M in Florida, it is always a point of contention as to who gets assigned what, with some clear favorites getting the big value stuff

like

This is true. I used to work there and worked for some of the newer attorneys that had been hired there. The good cases always went to the favorites and the people who had been there the longest with the cases not likely to bring in as much going to the newer attorneys.

In Ky associates have a base bay of 50k and then bonuses. This company is all about the numbers

like

It is bloody hell to work for this firm. NO ONE is appreciated and no matter how hard you work and how well you do, you will not be properly compensated.

Curious as well. I understand big cases are individual dependent but I see nothing at all on here about anyone making above 200k, yet I hear all the time about people who do well there (and that starting salary is over six figures now).

Also curious as to exit opportunities. I know it's not big law but I do wonder if the experience, despite the name, would translate to, say, commercial litigation or the like.

funny

Don't count on it. Run as fast as you can away from that place.

I have two offers in hand. KPMG and Deloitte. CTC is almost same whereas variable is more in KPMG. I am inclined towards Deloitte India. But HR in KPMG told me that I won't be able to join KPMG India in future as I accepted their offer. I informed her within 2 weeks and didn't do anything for onboarding. I didn't ask to increase the amount or JB and I strongly believe I informed early so they can look for other candidates. Is this bluff? Any HR here to clarify

I currently work at a small PI firm in Atlanta were EVERYTHING is settled presuit. If we’re unable to settle, then it’s referred to another firm for litigation. This whole process seems very atypical to me and the attorneys rarely touch a file until the first liability offer is received. The paralegals handle everything from intake to drafting the demands. The attorney briefly skims (does NOT read) the demand packages and signs. Is this ethical?? Anyone else work at a firm that is run this way??

I'm a 6th year attorney in NYC. Strictly defense work; started out with the City Law Dept, did a year and a half of med mal/construction, and for past year and a half have been at a well known defense firm working on high exposure construction accident cases. Hi everyone - I'm contemplating an offer from a large PI firm. I'm a little more than halfway through completing my 2nd year of practice, and I'm currently at a small firm with a low salary that's just no longer cutting it.

The offer from the large firm is for a pre-suit position, base salary of $100K - is this salary pretty standard for this kind of position?

Any insight is appreciated, thank you!!

What's your preference for plaintiff's side? Steady pay at approximately $120k with no bonuses, or a base salary of $70k plus a cut of what you close over a minimum threashold? Midwest-ish market. In both situations, you get a cut of what you bring in.
