Thoughts on cyber exit opportunities from B4 to tech or defense firms with 2 years of software security experience and active sec+? Have heard work life balance and hands on experience are more common in industry
I recently interviewed with MITRE for a systems engineering role to make the move from Leidos where I feel underpaid for the work I do and for my experience ($85K). I have 4 YOE, a STEM degree, and soon will have a Masters Degree. I’m looking to make around $120K in the new role at Mitre. Does anyone have any insight into comp there? This would be in the DC metro area. Does $120K seem reasonable or am I dreaming?
Finally watched The Social Dilemma on Netflix. It didn’t say anything that we didn’t already know about social media and big tech, but it’s still alarming and worth the watch. The biggest question I have after watching is why do people still romanticize FAANG? Is just purely the money and prestige? Are we selling our soul for a highly regarded exit opportunity? Just curious.

Getting recruited for a cloud strategy manager role at Deloitte. Anybody else gone through the interview process with this group recently? Recruiter mentioned roughly 4 interviews but wasn’t sure whether they were all behavioral or there were some case.
Considering MBB offers here. Background = ~2YOE at tier 2 (think LEK/EYP/S&). Mck role is a Junior Associate position with the highest salary offer, BCG and Bain offering an experienced AC equivalent position (with a potentially faster promotion track to SAC etc). I've heard and seen that McK experienced hires often do worse on average than BCG/Bain esp at junior levels and wanted to get some thoughts on how I should make my decision. Thank you!
Is there anyone at Dropbox who is willing to give me a referral for a software engineer internship position next summer (2022)? Thanks in advance!
Has anyone made the exit to product management either at FAANG or unicorn startup? How were you able to successfully make the leap? Any watch outs or specific pieces of advice? For reference, I am a post-MBA EM looking to make the jump and starting to prep for interviews
Anyone exited to AbbVie? Saw a position of interest but curious about culture and WLB, and how much a referral helps vs. cold applying.
Swingers get the rope. I've always heard this and have tried swinging a few times into better positions. Man I just got the rope on my recent attempt. Just a friendly reminder for my fellow traders. I lost 12% of a sizeable position in terms of coin coins.
Seems like this is a good place to get a reality check on what I am looking for in a position. I am trying to leave my current firm. I am a Senior Tax Accountant. Been the only Senior for a year. Currently make $76k. Had a bonus of $4500 this year. Not sure what the bonus is going to be next year (or if there will be any) since they are moving to a new bonus plan that is supposed to be more "fair and generous" We have a Safe harbor 401k plan. So get an automatic 3% contribution to 401K.
Worked 2 years entry role IT consultant at a big4 and 2 years another entry role strategy consultant at T2 cobsulting firm (ATK, LEK, S&), which level at MBB should I apply for? Again entry role?
2 years post mba offer from non faang tech. 240k all in tc. Is this reasonable? Role is strategy.

Anyone know what kind of outlook there is in incentive compensation? I’m going to be doing incentive compensation for a large pharma in an operations role. If I exit with 2 YOE what kind of comp can I expect as a manager or director for incentive comp?
If I had to pick my most hated concourse of any concourse I've ever been in, it'd be G at ORD T3. What about you?
Looking to make the jump to PwC and was hoping someone could help me find the independence/ restricted stock website / login for non-employees. I want to know how kissed my husband is about to be with me due to what we might need to sell off
Confirmed! Promotion from Specialist to Manager. Any thoughts on what to expect for raise?
A partner submitted my resume to her firm’s recruiting department and I got called in for an interview. I’m researching the interviewers and one is the hiring attorney. Is that a good sign or routine? (I haven’t worked in big law to know.)
Is there anyway to take advantage of the Delta Hertz partner program to earn Delta miles? All these programs want you to use their promotional rate...(cont)
Strategy& Exp Associate base salary + bonus estimate? What I’m seeing on Glassdoor doesn’t look so good…
Any insights into compensation details for a “Security Program Manager - Tech” at Uber with 7 YOE? TIA!
Moving cities every few years wears me out. I feel like I haven’t found the right place I feel like I belong. I want a place that I feel like home. How can I do that?
Do people realize that it is risky for an employer to have you on payroll if you aren’t vaccinated? If you get sick, they have to grant you leave and all that. So beyond the other staff, it’s risky to have someone employed and risk they end up with Covid because they will be short on labor. So it’s not unreasonable for an employer to require a vaccine to protect headcount.
If you’re in LCOL or MCOL, is your firm losing people to California firms offering remote work and California wages? I know some have left for Seiler; Citrin Cooperman; CohnReznick; Abbott, Stringham, and Lynch; Frank Rimerman; Green Hasson Janks. Just curious if it has affected your office at all and if you left for one of those firms, what is your experience so far?
🎏 fam, would love some counsel: is 90k starpounts for 132k United miles and 7 free night certificate at a cat1-5 worth it? I have ~162k starpounts and am wondering if I should do this...
Traveling to NYC and still holding off a bit longer on getting vaccinated. If I can't go into a restaurant, I'm still able to sit outside, correct? Are there restaurants that are more lax on these policies?
My career goal isn’t to make it to MBB or a unicorn or FAANG. It’s to feel fulfilled and challenged as I progress. I can’t be the only one that isn’t title or company chasing.
Just started at big4 as experienced hire, team cannot train me because no one has experience with the client due to scheduling issues, and industry is exactly the opposite of what I was told I’d be gaining exposure to in my interview (the only reason I accepted this offer). Can I request a switch? I have never regret accepting an offer more to be honest.
Struggling to wrap my mind around how deferred revenue is considered a debt like item. Someone help?
In the classroom, I would average 6k-8k steps. Now working from home, I rarely even hit 2k. How many steps are you getting these days? #feeling lazy
