What is the salary range I can expect to ask on the current role. What normally is included in the CTC of Amazon.

Are there any fundamental differences between a salary negotiation during the start (applying for the job) vs. Salary negotiation during a performance review (you’ve been employed for x time and looking for a raise). Currently a CSM for a tech start up (REALLY EARLY STAGES) and have been there for almost 2 years. A CRO offerred me an internal consulting/biz dev role. They offered 145k TC (20% bump) and slightly better benefits. They also offered accelerated path (6mo to 1yr) to MC. While promotion to MC at my current company is at least 1 year away. The job is interesting to me and fits my careery goal. But my big concern is that I've only been with my current company for a year (this is my first job, post PhD). Would this affect my resume in the future in terms of being viewed as "job hopping"?

Is there an easy/efficient way to figure out how much you've contributed to vs earned in your Roth accounts? I started contributing >20 years ago to my employer's Roth 401k and have rolled it over to a Roth IRA and moved it between multiple custodians, e.g. Fidelity, Vanguard, UBS, Personal Capital, etc. It is unclear to me how much I contributed vs how much I earned by investing it.

The purpose of doing this is I want to use $10K of it, but want to prove that the $10K is from my contribution.

I joined a new team and have noticed something off with my Director over the last months (slurring speech, no show to calls or even full days of work). I finally asked a colleague about it today because I’m concerned about my Director. She confirmed that she’s noticed the same over the last few years, but no one ever says anything. In confidence she told me she can often smell alcohol. How can I help? I feel helpless. I’ve already lost someone to addiction and I can’t ignore this. Any advice?

I've been working at my company just over a year and am still waiting on my 1 year review where a raise was to be discussed (other EA got raise at 1 year review and most raises happen at yearly reviews). However, company have just changed their policy to only review salaries in Jan (change came in after my year mark). Bit of a niche topic: I’ve been in TS/SCI processing for a Science/Tech/Weapons analyst position with the CIA for 3 yrs since I finished grad school in chemistry, but CIA positions are sort of set it and forget it since they can take so long. I am working on a NFOA for a design case. The Examiner identified a primary references and four secondary references. The Examiner also pointed out five differences between the primary reference and the claimed design. For the reply, I found nine additional differences between the claimed design and the primary reference, two of which are not present in any of the cited references. I’m a patent pros. paralegal working in bio/chem at my firm, 26 yo with an MS in Chem at 100k and a 115 hr billable req.
After the mental beat down that was grad school, I’m happy to have straightforward tasks and mentally coast, but my attys want me to start studying for the patent bar asap.
I like where I’m at and I know that once I start down the tech spec/agent/attorney path, it’s going to be full speed. How long do you think I can/should stay in this position before starting to study?
