Hello People,
I received a verbal offer letter from Oracle. I said yes and things moved on. BGV was initiated as well. BUT, Yesterday I received a call from the hiring manager that Oracle is putting hiring freeze, so they are not able to release offer letter as 1 approval was still pending from the VP. He said I will be contacted once freeze is over. Do you think I still have any chances of getting in once the freeze is lifted and how long the freezes are in Oracle ? Oracle

I hear it as 'we need an adult in the room to get us from talking to doing. We have a great idea/strategy and funding but we aren't making it happen fast enough.' That probably means you need a relentless focus on what are we actually getting done/out the door, helping the team break big aspiration into timely chunks of work and holding them to deadlines. Probably a lot of creating and implementing processes/standardization to aid in getting things done in an efficient and effective manner.
Agree with MK1. Sounds like there are a lot of people with great ideas with little ability to turn that into action and an executable plan on a timeline.
I’ve worked with that type - they can be challenging to manage without tamping down their innovative spirit.
You’ll spend a lot of time putting process/structure in place and herding feral cats.
Agree with both of the above. Be sure to ask specific questions of the founder… what are his expectations, timelines, what does success look like, etc. and be prepared with your own 30/60/90-day, 6-month, etc. execution plans.
If possible, try to understand what’s the root cause and think about what can be done to address them and incorporate into your own 30 day etc plan
Sounds like they want you to make the devs work faster
Sounds like they need a people and process to get shit done
